Elena Karanatsi is a journalist and writer. She was born in the USA and raised in Thessaloniki. She has been working in Athens since 1999. Her professional
career includes print and electronic media (Kathimerini newspaper, Athens municipal radio 9.84, TV and Radio Macedonia, Aggelioforos and Voria
newspapers). She has been involved in freelance and cultural reporting. During the period of the great economic recession in Greece, she
collaborated with CNN and Washington Post correspondents. She is a graduate of the Department of Journalism and Media of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds a master's degree from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of the National University of Athens.
Her journey in ERT news programs began in 2002 and has continued steadily since 2015 until today, with the main focus being research for the program
"Phasma" on Ertnews.
She has written a political novel titled “The Next Leader.”
She is married and a mother of two.
