ELLI MASTOROU

FILM CRITIC

Elli Mastorou was born in Athens in 1986 and grew up in Brussels. She studied Art History and Film Theory in Brussels (ULB) and Paris (Nanterre). Her writings include a university thesis on the cinema of Wes Anderson and a publication on film adaptations of Emile Zola. Since 2012, she has been working as a freelance film critic for print, online, television, and radio media in French-speaking Belgium. From 2020 to 2025, she was a member of the Belgian Film Commission (CCA) and the programming team for the Love International Film Festival in Mons, Belgium. Since 2021, she is the president of the Belgian Film Press Union (UPCB-UBFP), making her the first woman to lead the Union. She lives and works between Brussels and Athens.
