Dr. Panagiota (Yota) Samioti is an academic and photographer. In recent years, she has been active in cinema as a screenwriter and director. She works as Laboratory Teaching Staff at the School of Philosophy of the University of Crete and is the co-founder of Women in Art (WINART, winart.gr). She has written and directed short films, while her photography has been exhibited in Greece and published in the international magazine Women in Photography (WIP, Royal Photographic Society). Since 2024, she has been conducting her postdoctoral research on “Women Directors in Greek Cinema” in the Department of Digital Arts and Cinema (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens). Her work is inspired by social issues and feminism, promoting gender equality through art.
