Chara Kourlessi holds a BA in English Language and Literature and an MA in Applied Linguistics from the Department of English Language and Literature (University of Athens). She is a certified adult educator, author and scriptwriter. She has already written three literature books for kids and a theatrical play whereas she has received the “Best First Time Screenwriter” award from the American “Top Shorts”. Two of her short-fiction screenplays have received the “Best Short-Fiction Screenplay” award from prestigious film festivals in Greece and abroad. She is the designer and instructor of an innovative screenwriting programme for kids, which involves the adaptation of literary works into English-speaking short-fiction screenplays. For the successful implementation of the screenwriting programme for kids, she received the gold award of innovation by the ELT Excellence Awards 2024. She also participates in the writing of the European Commission’s annual digital books concerning adult education in member-states.
