NIOVI ANAZIKOU

JOURNALIST - DOCUMENTARY PRODUCER

Niovi Anazikou is a renowned journalist, documentary producer, and director. Her work centers on research and amplifying the visibility of underrepresented social narratives.

With degrees in Accounting and Journalism, and a Master’s in “Culture and Documentary Production” from the University of the Aegean, she possesses a diverse knowledge base. Anazikou is a member of the Greek National Association of Journalists and previously served as a Senior Producer and Journalist at VICE Greece for nine years. Currently, she works as a journalist and researcher at ERTNews while also teaching Documentary and Film Production at accredited institutions in Greece. Additionally, she maintains a successful freelance career in journalism and audiovisual content production.

Throughout her career, Anazikou has written scripts, produced, presented, and directed numerous award-winning documentaries, including feature-length and short films. These works explore a range of social and gender issues, capturing the essence of individuals’ experiences and documenting social conditions with sensitivity and meticulousness.

Beyond her own films, Anazikou has collaborated with leading companies in the advertising sector, both domestically and internationally, contributing to the production of written and audiovisual content. Her notable collaborations include video productions with award-winning media outlets and the Greek office of the European Parliament.

Anazikou’s dedication lies in using film as a tool to delve into social and gender issues, capturing the essence of human experiences, and fostering meaningful dialogue on critical societal matters.
