ATHENA XENIDOU

DIRECTOR - PRODUCER

Athena holds a Bachelor’s in Film from the University of California and a Master’s in Politics and Media. Mentored by Olympia Dukakis, she founded The Film and Stage Studio, preparing young talents for global stages. As a teacher of TV Production at the University of Lancashire, she extends her passion for education.
Her creative journey boasts award-winning shorts like Dead End with Chris Rafferty (The Flash, Lucifer), The Made Guy ( Best Cinematography -Reel Loud Film & Arts Santa Barbara) Her film credits include awarded shorts Dead End with Chris Rafferty (The Flash, Lucifer), The Made Guy (Best Cinematography at Reel Loud Film & Arts Festival) Saving Joy – (Best Microfilm Award – Roma Short Film Festival) and Insidious Invisible (Distinction-Stockholm Film Festival) and a feature film documentary Unwitnessed Memories (Gold Jury Award  at Worldfest Houston).
In 2021 Athena led a global campaign to raise money for Greek Hospitals during Covid and directed a music video Saving the World by Monika, with Hellenic Film Academy awarded cinematographer Simos Sarketzis and Oscar nominated editor Yorgos Mavropsaridis.
Athena’s impact extends to Greek television, where she directed 84 episodes of reality shows like Survivor and The Farm as well as a gripping drama Greek TV series, starring Nikos Poursanidis (The Lost Daughter), Katerina Didaskalou (Captain Corelli’s Mandolin), and Petros Lagoutis (The Other Me).
Athena has directed 7 theatrical productions, including THOC’s The Shadow Box and The Stone, resulting in three nominations and one win at the Cyprus National Theatre Awards.
