
Nina Maria Paschalidou is a filmmaker, director, writer and producer, based in Athens, Greece. She has worked with international networks such as Al Jazeera, ARTE, RAI, PBS World Channel and many others, to document social issues, crisis, human rights violations and forgotten populations around the world. Her films have been awarded many distinctions among them: Finalist Picture of the Year Awards, Webby Award (2012) for “The Prism 2011”, www.theprism.tv , Nominee IDFA 2013 for “Kismet” and a Gold Medal at the International Television Awards (2019) for “The Snake Charmer”. Nina graduated from Ecole Brillantmont in Switzerland, and holds an undergraduate degree in Mass Communications at Boston University and an MBA in Entrepreneurship at Bentley University. She has studied film at the New York Film Academy and at NYU, in New York. She has also received a Fellowship at the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in International Relations. She has recently completed two films, “Femicidio”, a film about femicides in Italy, (Al Jazeera, Sky) and “Europe Revealed”, a six episode ARTE series on the future of Europe. She has also directed the series “Roots” for Mega Channel (2022) about wellbeing and alternative ways of living.
