Katerina Kaskanioti has associated her name with the development of pay television in Greece and innovative practices in the field of Media.
She started her carrier in the film industry as a production manager, she worked for three years in McCann Erickson and soon after she launched the first kid’s channel in Greece, namely K-TV. In 2000 she became the Director of the first satellite digital platform in Greece, broadcasting for the first time international networks such as Discovery, National Geographic, Disney channel etc. Few years later she moved up to a top executive position at NOVA, one of the largest media and telecommunication companies in Greece.
As head of NOVA’s pay television in Greece and Cyprus, for more than 20 years, she was leading a team of over 200 experts in the field of Media, Cinema, Sports, and Production.
She cooperated closely with Hollywood studios and internationally acclaimed film distributors, negotiating and financing multiple content deals. Over the years, she authorized the co-production of 135 Greek feature films including the most awarded and commercially successful Greek titles of the last two decades.
In parallel, she worked closely with sports federations and sports associations resolving multiple and complex issues. She was responsible for the smooth operation of dozens of Nova channels, including the premium channels NovaCinema and NovaSports of which their live production is over 2000 hours per year.
Being member of the Board of Directors of the company (Nova) participated actively in all top level managerial, strategic decisions and corporate developments.
Fostered change in company culture towards gender equality and promoted women’s empowerment through special film tributes, speeches in forums and various other initiatives related to women’s presence in business and sports.
Since January 2022, she is Partner and Executive Producer at Central Athens SA, a highly prominent Greek film production company.
She holds a diploma in Philosophy, Education and Psychology from University of Ioannina. Her post graduate studies are in Business Management and Media.
