Το WIFT GR ανακοινώνει τη διημερίδα «Το Γυναικείο Βλέμμα στον Κινηματογράφο», που θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 17-18 Οκτωβρίου 2025 στην Αθήνα, με την υποστήριξη του ΕΚΚΟΜΕΔ. Το πρόγραμμα περιλαμβάνει συζητήσεις, προβολές και δράσεις δικτύωσης που αναδεικνύουν τη ματιά των γυναικών στον κινηματογράφο. Στις 17 Οκτωβρίου 2025, η πρωτοπόρος σκηνοθέτρια Nina Menkes θα δώσει ομιλία για το γυναικείο βλέμμα, πριν από την προβολή-αθηναϊκή πρεμιέρα του βραβευμένου ντοκιμαντέρ της Brainwashed: Sex–Camera–Power (2022).
Διεθνής καλεσμένη του WIFT GR στο πλαίσιο της εκδήλωσης. Πρωτοπόρος του φεμινιστικού σινεμά και μία από τις σημαντικότερες ανεξάρτητες αμερικανίδες σκηνοθέτριες. Το ντοκιμαντέρ της, που έκανε πρεμιέρα στο Sundance και συμμετείχε σε κορυφαία φεστιβάλ σε όλο τον κόσμο (Λονδίνο, Berlinale, Viennale, idfa, Φεστιβάλ Ντοκιμαντέρ Θεσσαλονίκης, Karlovy Vary, κ.ά.), αντλεί από πολλές σπουδαίες θεωρητικούς του φεμινισμού (Laura Mulvey, Teresa de Lauretis, bell hooks, Judith Butler, κ.ά.) και χαρακτηρίστηκε ως μία από τις καλύτερες ταινίες της χρονιάς στον διεθνή Τύπο (The Guardian, Sight & Sound, Senses of Cinema, Screen Slate, κ.ά).

WIFT GR announces the two-day event “The Female Gaze in Cinema”, taking place on 17-18 October 2025 in Athens, with the support of EKKOMED (Hellenic Film & Audiovisual Center-Creative Greece). The programme includes discussions, screenings, and networking activities highlighting women’s perspectives in cinema. On 17 October, pioneering filmmaker Nina Menkes will give a talk on the female gaze, followed by the Athens premiere of her award-winning documentary Brainwashed: Sex–Camera–Power (2022).
International guest of WIFT GR for the event. A cinematic feminist pioneer and one of America’s foremost independent filmmakers. Her documentary, which premiered at Sundance and was screened at major festivals worldwide (London, Berlinale, Viennale, IDFA, Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, Karlovy Vary, and others), draws on the work of prominent feminist theorists such as Laura Mulvey, Teresa de Lauretis, bell hooks, Judith Butler, among others, and was acclaimed as one of the best films of the year, in The Guardian, Sight & Sound, Senses of Cinema, Screen Slate and many others.
